Let me start off by saying people are very confident these days. My dad once gave me a good piece of advice, never ask a woman if she is pregnant unless you can physically see the baby coming out. So that is what I live by.
Recently at work people have been very confident in the fact that I'm pregnant. Even if I have two jackets on they still ask...c'mon people I could just be fat. Today this lady said, "Are...ugh...(By this time I knew what she was getting at)....Are you pregnant? I usually don't ask people, but you are just so skinny. " Other people at work just flat out ask me with no hesitation at all. Seriously people what if I were just fat? I would be very offended. I have no problem with them asking me, my problem is what if they ask someone who isn't pregnant and then they are in that REALLY awkward situation.
So just be 100% sure someone is pregnant before asking them =)
Hey, that's nice that they ask though & that they're not afraid to ask! Bc if they're afraid to ask it means you just look fat! & on top of that skinny comment, You're good to go! You look great, still, by the way! You just look like one of those adorable girls that just grows the belly bump out front & doesn't get huge all over! I hope I'm that way one day...we'll see!
ReplyDeleteI get asked ALL THE TIME and though I ry not to be bothered, it is very offensive! The most recent was by a room mom from a previous year. You're dad's advice is great and I wish more people would follow it!
