Croup

Sunday night while we had some friends Matix woke up from with a really bad cough.

It sounded like the barking from a dog and then it sounded like he was struggling to breath. 

We took him to the ER right away.

 Matix loved the ER room. There were so many things to look at plus lots of noises from the hall.

The doctor gave him so steroids to help the inflammation of his throat and then we waited to make sure he was getting better and not worse. 

We got home a little after midnight and Matix was wide awake. 

To say the least, it was a long night for us. 

Matix is now doing better. Still has a cough, not as bad as is was on Sunday night, and has a runny nose. 

He actually wanted to play this morning, which was good. Yesterday he sat on my lap all day and didn't want me to put him down.

I'm so grateful for the great friends we have. I was kinda freaking out before we left for the ER and they all were so helpful. They got our jackets, held Matix for us, and put stuff away for us after we left. They offered their help in the middle of the night. Monday we had a couple friends bring us dinner, since Matix is still not doing well. We are really blessed with some great friends here. I'm not sure what I would do with out them.
