This semester I'm taking a history of design and architecture class. I LOVE it. It is a lot of work to get ready for tests, but it is by far my favorite class at BYU. Right now in class we are studying English design and architecture. Monday in class we learned about the unique architecture of a Georgian row house and what their fire places look like. When you want to know what period a room is from you look at their fire place right away. Whenever Doug and I drive around town and I see some architecture I've learned about I feel the need to point it out to Doug and tell him all about it. Each time he rolls his eyes, smiles, and nods, just like a good husband that doesn't care.
Now on to Harry Potter. Tonight for our date we went to see the newest Harry Potter at the dollar theater. The whole movie did not meet our expectations. It was SO dark and was SO different than the rest of the movies. Doug liked it more than I did, but still we were glad we only paid $2 for our tickets. Best part of the movie is when Harry splits the GEORGIAN ROW HOUSES in half and enters between them. Then when he is in the house that is between them, the mantle piece shows it was from the period of Robert Adams(Georgian). It took all I had to wait to tell Doug until after the movie.
So that my friends is how Harry Potter and Georgian Architecture go together =)
Here is my stud of a husband and I waiting for the movie to start...
