Day Two Hundred and Twenty-One- Family Home Evening

Tonight for Family Home Evening Doug gave the lesson. He taught yesterday in elders quorum and so he gave that lesson to me. We talked about different ways to avoid sin and went over two talks from the last general conference. It was nice to have a quiet evening talking about ways we can improve, avoid sin, and draw closer to our Heavenly Father. I love these nights when we have gospel related conversations and we can feel the spirit really strong.

After FHE, we decided to work on our scholarship applications. The original plan was to apply for a scholarship given out by the Ventura County/Santa Barbara Alumni Chapter. So we almost complete and then find out it was a replenishment grant. Last thing we have to write about is what a REPLENISHMENT grant means to us and how we plan to pay it back. Sorry, we are all about free money. None of this pay back stuff for us right now. So we just decided to apply for a normal scholarship through the university. We want to wait till grad school hopefully before we have to get money that we have to pay back. We like our government grants and SMART grants for right now.

  1. Replenishment grants mean that at some point in your life if/when you are able, you will help someone else out.

But at least you were honest, eh?
