Day Five-Touring San Diego

Finally by Wednesday I was feeling a lot better. We decided to hit a bunch of places my dad had recommended for us. For breakfast we ate at Hash House A Go Go. He gave us great advice to not get our own plates, did we listen? NOPE! We thought we could each finish our own plates...boy was that a mistake. Take a look at how much food they give you...




After the huge breakfast we ate, we decided to go out to the beach because it was the first day it was a little sunny. So we drove to Mission Beach. When we got there, it was overcast and the sun was gone. We still decided to lay out on the beach for a while and relax. Oh boy do I miss the beach!!!



From the beach we walked around Mission Beach area and sat and watched people ride fake waves at The Wave House for about 30 min. It was pretty entertaining. After that we went to a place/cliff in La Jolla where para gliders take off from. It was beautiful. The views were amazing and it reminded me why I want to live in California. It was great to be on this cliff overlooking the ocean with the man of my dreams. From top you can see the beach, to one side is a Blacks beach-a nudist beach. We saw this man walking on the beach and he was definitely naked. We couldn't see anything because we were to high up but we were positive he was with out clothes.






After all of our adventures at the beach, we went back to the hotel to clean up. When we got back to the hotel we asked the front desk to see if they had any rooms available for us with a bigger bed...and they DID!!!! We got moved to a room with a King size bed!!!


After we moved everything to our new room we were pretty hungry and we decided to venture to Old Town San Diego. Once we got there I really wanted to go to the Mormon Battalion Historic Site and so Doug being the amazing husband he is, went with me. It was pretty cool to hear all about it, I loved it. Doug was too hungry to enjoy it. From there we walked to the best Mexican restaurant we had ever eaten at!!! They had Mexican women making fresh tortillas in the front of the place and they were so good. The corn tortillas were the best Doug and I have ever had!!! We almost wanted to go back the next day just for tortillas! Thanks mom for suggesting that place!

Day Four-Relaxing while being Sick

When we woke up this morning, I was still feeling really sick. So we stayed in bed all day and watched movies. Doug ran to a bagel shop in the morning to get us breakfast and then he started his day taking care of a sick wife. That evening I was feeling a little better, so I decided to go with Doug to get dinner. All I wanted for dinner was some saltine crackers but we stopped at a Mexican place so Doug could eat some real food.


This is us on our way back up to our room in the elevator. I love glass elevators, every time we went down or up I would hope for the glass ones so we could look outside.

Day Three-Zoo Day

Doug was kind enough to take me to the San Diego Zoo for the day. I seriously have the best husband... he put up with me all day being as excited as a little kid to see all the animals. I saw so many cute and really cool animals...I even got to hold a bird! We went to a bird show and they picked me to have a bird fly to. All I had to do was hold out my arm with a dollar bill and the bird flew to me and snatched my dollar bill. Then he flew back after a few seconds and gave me the dollar back. It was so exciting!!!

After the Zoo we went to a Vons to get water, a few snacks, some soap and a couple of movies to watch from a fake redbox. We watched one of the movies, Leap year, that night and saved the other one for the next day. After we went to bed that night I got really sick! I got up in the middle of the night and moved to the other double bed so I wouldn't wake Doug up. Well the my stomach was in so much pain I could not stand it anymore. I woke my amazing husband up at 2am and he took care of me. He held my hair back as a puked in the sink, he even gave me a blessing, then he put his arm around me and let me try to fall back asleep on him. Our conclusion was it was food poisoning =/

Day Two-Opening up Wedding gifts

Sunday Morning we were able to sleep in and just relax in the morning. We got ready for the day and headed back to the Bell's house to open presents!!! We were way excited to open all the presents. Three hours later were opened the last card, who knew it would really take that long!




After opening presents and eating lunch with all the family, we headed south to San Diego to start our Honeymoon. We checked into the Westin hotel, headed up to our room to find this...



...a room with 2 double beds.

That evening we walked around downtown San Diego to try to find something good to eat. We found this cute Italian restaurant and ordered the best pizza I've ever had. We took some back to our room and saved it for a midnight snack.

Day One-The Wedding

Here is the recap of the magical day!!!



I woke up at 4:45am to have my wonderful friend Cindy do my hair. I was out the door by 6:10am to run to Camarillo to pick up Doug. We were able to drive down to the temple together, which was so special. We were in the temple by 7:30am and sealed at 8:30am. We were so blessed to be able to have all of our families and everyone that means the most to us at the sealing(Sadly Valerie's husband Rob was not able to be there for the wedding because he was starting he residency in Texas-you were missed Rob!!).

We came out of the temple and right away started taking tons and tons of photos. Then we went to the Westlake Village Inn to take more pictures-they have beautiful grounds. It feels like your in a little Tuscan Village. Between taking pictures and reception we had a couple of hours to spare so we checked into our room there at the Westlake Village Inn. We were able to put our legs up and take a nap for a few hours.

We then headed to the Bell's house for the reception. We got there about an hour and half early so we could eat and take MORE pictures. The reception was amazing and everyone did a fantastic job that helped out and made it all possible. I was able to dance with my husband for the first time to Michael Buble's song Everything. At the end of the night Brother Christensen from Doug's home ward drove us away in his old hot rod car that was decorated with a sign on the back saying Just Married. It was the perfect day and ended the perfect way.

The First Year of Marriage

Thanks to my good friend Rachel, I've decided to take one picture a day for the first year we are married and blog about it. That means you will get to share the magic and stress of our first year of being a Mr. and Mrs.
