Day Sixty-Seven-Happy Birthday Mari

Today was my SIL Mari's birthday. Since Matt is still out of town, her good friend Hillary got some of her friends and family together and threw her a little surprise birthday party. Love You Mari!!

Day Sixty-Six-1st Day of School

Today was our first day of school for the Fall semester. Lets just say Doug is excited for this semester and I'm ready for it to over already.

Day Sixty-Five-Happy Birthday Julia!

Today is my recently engaged friend Julia's Birthday! Our friend from back home drove up to Utah today and so we had them over for dinner. I made a cake for Julia but sadly we didn't have any candles so she just pretended to blow out candles and made a wish. I'm so stoked that our friends are going to be living here for a while going to school.

Day Sixty-Three-Surprise Date!

Doug has been talking up his awesome wonderful date for weeks. Today was finally the big day for the surprise date. Doug left the house with a cooler and backpack full of stuff. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. We started driving up the Provo canyon and stopped in Heber to eat dinner at Dairy Keen. It was quite tasty and it was our second time eating there. Then we kept driving all the way to....PARK CITY. It was raining so hard when we got to Park City and I thought if we are doing anything outside this is not happening. We ended up at the Peaks Hotel. Doug booked us a hotel for the night!! The back pack he had was full of clothes and everything we needed for one night. The cooler had sparkling cider. It was so nice to not have to worry about the little things around the house for the night. Doug and I just relaxed and watched some TV together that night.

I'm done writing all of our Thank You notes! Now Doug gets to address them...lucky him!

Day Sixty-One-Break our Bank Account Would ya' BYU!

Tonight we did what a lot of students dread to do...we bought books. Well only my books tonight and Doug's are going to be a lot more expensive than mine. I hate when the professor writes their own books and then they can rack up the price and it's not available on half.com!

Day Sixty- Long Time No See

...except for at the wedding 2 months ago! My wonderful Uncle Nick and my cousin Jordan came over for dinner tonight. Jordan is starting BYU this fall and so Nick came up to help him get settled in. It was fun to have them over and chat and just spend time with them.

Nick and Lisa, I hope you know Doug and I are always here for Jordan while he is up here. We even told him we will feed him if you is sick of cup of noodles =

Day Fifty-Nine-My License is PINK!

...Well at least the top of it is and you know what that means...I'M A UTAH DRIVER. My license came in the mail today!

Day Fifty-Eight-Fruit Smoothie Anyone?

Tonight we tried using the frozen strawberries and a frozen limeade drink we had to make a fruit smoothie...

It didn't taste very good so Doug decided to put in a couple of his frozen Big Sticks...

And finally it turned out pretty good...

Then we made some old school popcorn and enjoyed it while eating it while watching 24(we're on season 6!!)

Day Fifty-Seven- 7peaks

Today we went to Seven Peaks with Brad and Tamara's family. It was a blast playing with all the little kids in the water. I'm glad we got to go with their family.

Day Fifty-Six- Hangin' out with the Fitts

Kylie and Cody came down from Salt Lake this evening to have dinner with us and hang out. Doug and Kylie have known each other for a long time, they grew up in Camarillo together and hung out with all the same people. It was fun to have them over and get to know them better. We had a really fun time with them just talking and joking around. Next time we are going up to Salt Lake to eat at Sizzler with them. Thanks for coming down! =)

Day Fifty-Five-Watching Doug with Doug

Tonight Doug and I went to see my boss Doug's team play softball. He coaches and plays on his Doug's Auto team. They have a really good co-ed team and kicked the other teams trash tonight!

Day Fifty-Four- My Mommas Salsa

Tonight I got courageous and made my mom's salsa. I absolutely love this salsa! When she would make it back home I would put tablespoons of it on my food and eat it all up. It turned out pretty good and very spicy(I didn't know how spicy the chiles were going to be). This recipe is actually really easy and I'm so glad it turned out the way it's supposed to.

Tonight Doug and I got invited to go to a Dave Matthews Band concert with Brandon and Lindsey. It was quite the experience. Dave Matthews puts on a really good concert and he is so talented. It was fun to watch the drunk/high guys on every side of us dance and slur their words as they were trying to talk to us. We had a way fun time, Thank you Brandon and Lindsey for inviting us, We love you guys!

Day Fifty-Two- Mari's Back!

Tonight we picked up Mari from the airport. She has been in Alaska all summer with Matt working. It was fun to hear all her stories on the way home. I'm glad your back Mari =)

Side note: Doug and I spent over an hour tonight trying to get his drivers door open on his car. It doesn't open from the inside or outside. We made progress but the door still wont open. Lets hope we can get it open soon! Also it is due for an emissions test this month...will it pass? We don't know. If it doesn't pass, we might have to buy a new(very used) car. Pray that it wont come to that!!

Day Fifty-One- A Stye....Really?

This might be a little TMI, but oh well deal with it. I have a stye in my eye! It started yesterday and is worse today.

p.s. Our friends Megan and Jared are back from their honeymoon and we are so excited they are back.

Day Fifty-It's All In The Envelopes

This week is my week to plan a date and so I snagged an idea off a blog that I follow. I made 4 sets of envelopes one for Breakfast, Activity, Dinner, and Lovin'. Each had 3 envelopes and an idea in each. So for breakfast the envelopes said, "Breakfast in Bed", "Breakfast Diner", and "Make Breakfast Together". Doug gets to pick one envelope to open and that is what we do. So this makes for a pretty fun spontaneous day. Here is how is went...

Time to pick an activity for the day...

He chose "Matinée of your choice"....his choice was Step Up 3D....

After the movie we walked around the Riverwoods for a while. First stop...a toy store.
I will always be a Clark at heart...



Next we walked to Borders and I convinced Doug to sit on the ground in the Kids area and read my two favorite Dr. Seuss books with me.

And so we went to Wingers for Dinner. It was pretty good, nothing to write home about. I'm glad we tried something new.
