Blessing Bow-Tie

Today I attempted to be crafty and make Matix a bow-tie for his blessing. I don't sew, so I found a tutorial that used double sided tape. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be.
Doug was awesome and helped a lot with it.
I really like the look of bow-ties on little boys. I'm hoping I can master how to make these ones so that I can make some more.

Side note: We've been having a hard time getting Matix to sleep on his own for naps. We were constantly having to hold him if we wanted him to sleep for longer than 10 min. Well tonight before we made the bow-tie we figured out the secret. We have to swaddle him in his swaddle blanket and then put him in his swing. Doing this he slept for 45 min. It was amazing!

Precious Moments

I'm so glad I captured this moment. Doug wanted to give Matix a bath all by him self. I went in to check in on them and Matix was giving his daddy this cutest smile.

Goodbye

Today we visited with Rachel and said goodbye to her for 18 months. Really it isn't goodbye though, we will write her lots of letters while she is in Russia! This girl is going to be a rock star of a missionary.

March Madness

This year hasn't been so bad. I actually have a husband and Matix has a Daddy. I'm glad basketball hasn't consumed his whole life like it has in past years. Doug watched a few games yesterday and Matix joined him, it was part of their bonding time. 

Thank You Utah...

...for having amazing weather(70 degrees)! 

After our afternoon date we decided to feed Matix then take him on a walk. 

This weather is just too  nice to stay in doors.

First Date

Today we went on our first date since Matix was born. We dropped Matix off at Julie and Jared's place and went out to lunch. We had a Groupon for Sammy's which gave us 2 burgers, 2 fries and 2 shakes. This place is a true hole in the wall with really good food. I was really looking forward to my mint Oreo pie shake, and it didn't disappoint! Overall the food was great, but we would only go there again if we had another Groupon, otherwise it would be to expensive.

It was sure nice to have some us time, but we sure missed Matix. It was nice to know we left him in good hands though. Thanks Julie and Jared! 

So Loved

Matix has some awesome Aunts and cousins. Valerie and her girls sent him a Valentines card and now Steph and her girls sent him an Easter card. I can't wait for Matix to meet all these wonderful girls that love him SO much.

You love:
 dancing with daddy, eating, bath time, getting your diaper changed, car rides, your yellow rattle, your paci, and smiling(you are so close to laughing)

You hate:
 tummy time, getting shots, and getting out of the bath 

Church Time

It was so nice to be able to go to church today as a family. I loved being able to sit by Doug and have Matix with us. The Barlows got Matix this ADORABLE outfit that he wore today. As soon as I put it all on him I couldn't stop smiling. It was like I was playing dress up...but with a boy. I'm going to have too much fun with this every Sunday. 

H&M

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, Doug took us up to Fashion Place Mall. The only reason I wanted to go there was to shop at H&M. I love that store, what I don't love is how busy they are. We got Matix his first of many outfits from that store. H&M is my new favorite children's clothing store. It's a darn good thing the store isn't closer and you can't buy online or else we would be in some financial problems ;)

Matix's Day

These are a few things Matix does during the day. The only things missing are eating, eating, more eating, and some daddy time at night. Matix is working on sleeping in his crib for naps, he sleeps in there for about 10 min before waking up. It's a start. He doesn't enjoy tummy time very much and loves getting his diaper changed. As soon as we set him down on the changing pad, the smiles start coming.
I feel so blessed to be able to stay home with him all day. I love being able to see him grow and develop. He started talking to us a couple weeks ago and it's so cute! Matix is growing so fast, I wish I could pause time for just a little bit.

Spring day in Winter

Today was a whopping 64 degrees. This is the warmest it has been in a while. Matix and I took advantage of the nice weather a took a walk. We walked all the way up the Provo/Orem hill to my old work, Doug's Auto. It was nice to visit with the guys for a few minutes. Matix did a great job on the walk. He fell asleep and woke up when we got to Doug's.Then on the way home he fell asleep again. It was a nice long walk fpr both of us. I wish this warm weather would last! 

Our little Man

I put Matix in his first pair of jeans yesterday. He looks like a little man in them. Matix is getting so big too. Wednesday he was 6 weeks old and weighed in at 12lbs! 

 Last night was a great night with him, he slept from 8:30 to 6 AM. I couldn't believe we got 9 and a half hours of sleep. I woke up today feeling like I've never felt before. 

Matix is so much fun. He is smiling even more now. Doug likes to makes him dance to songs. Matix loves it and just smiles at his daddy as he dances.
