Day Ninety-Two-BYU and Shopping!

Today Doug and I took my parents on a quick tour of BYU's campus, since they have not been on campus since Valerie went there.

First stop was the bookstore. My mom loved the cookbook section and even got herself a new cookbook. My dad found some new sandals for 30% off. They were both pleased.

Next we went to the Eyring Building so my dad could play with all the fun science toys in the building. This was our favorite..."The invisible dollar"

We made it into the invisible head...

I gave my dad my ticket so he could go to the game with Doug and I could go shopping with my mom.
Here are my two favorite men before and during the game.

My mom and I really got our shop on. My car was full when we got home. She helped me pick out a lot of cute things for our place. Tomorrow my dad is going to help Doug put everything on the walls.

After shopping and hard loss from BYU, We all went out to the Creamery to get some ice cream. My parents have never had BYU's ice cream and I had never been the Creamery on Ninth East. It was definitely some gooood ice cream =)

Day Eighty-Nine-Beauty

Today as I walked to class I couldn't help but to admire the beauty that was around me. I have the mountains with the hints of red popping up all over it to one side and I have the beautiful Utah lake on my other side (it looks beautiful in the morning and from far away). I'm so grateful for all of God's creations and the fact I get to see them everyday as I look around campus.

We are definitely hooked this season of Glee!

Day Eighty Five-The Newest Houghtons

Jake and Jilian were married for time and all eternity today! What a beautiful sealing it was. I love listening to the sealing and all the advice the sealer gives the couple. Doug and I don't remember anything our sealer told us sadly, so I like to think the sealer at their wedding was talking to us too.

So the sealing room was pretty full and Doug and I decided to let all the family in first so make sure they get seats and then we could stand. Well we didn't realize waiting till the end and there being no seats left would mean that we would sit on a bench that was brought in. Where was the bench at you may ask? In front of the first row of chair. We were only about a foot away from the the couple when they were being sealed. It was kinda embarrassing.

They are such a beautiful couple! Take a look at Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Houghton.

Day Eighty-Four- Bed, Bath, and Beyond

Tonight we were able to go to Bed, Bath, &Beyond and buy anything else we need and get 20% off our whole purchase, not just one item. They do this every once and while for all the newly married couples. It was fun for me and not so much fun for Doug. He hates pushing the shopping cart in that store because the isle are so tiny and it was crowded.

We did score on some needed things...a new shower head (the one we have now has no water pressure, now we just have to figure out how to get the old head off), some shelves to put some pictures on, a couple of fans, and a steamer for our vegetables.

While we were at BB&B we also got some things for Matt and Mari too. We dropped them off at their house and ended up staying and playing Skip-Bo with Mari. Bad idea...Mari kicked our trash!!!

Day Eighty-Three

Okay, this is the one time I will allow you to check out my husbands butt! Look at the new jeans we got him. Doesn't he look good?

We had a coupon for at Khols we got a great deal on them. I'm still in this mode where I can't justify buying clothes for myself, but I can justify buying clothes for Doug.

We also had a gift card to Cafe Rio, so we decided to go there for dinner. As we were eating, guess what Doug saw in the window??? Take a look.

I couldn't be more happy to see the word OXNARD in Utah! I love Oxnard so much and miss it. I can't wait to go home.

Day Eighty-One- A Dense Clark Girl Moment

If you didn't know, us Clark girls all have our dense moments in life. Well today was one of those days for me.

I came home from work and was relaxing with Doug and we started joking around...and this is the conversation:

A: Well do you want to be a widow?
D: I can't be a widow, that's just women. I would be a widower.
A: What the crap is a widower? You would be a widow.
D: REALLY ASHLEY?? You don't know what a widower is?
A: Isn't it the person who dies and the other one is the widow? So If I die, I'm the widower and your the widow?
(He is now laughing really hard at me)So we looked it up on dictionary.com.....and Doug was right of course.

Doug then has to text my dad and tell him what I said. So my loving dad tells Doug to ask me about a past dense moment I had years ago. Oh how I love the men in my life!

Then I had to call Steph to see if she knew what a widower was. I told her the story and she began to laugh at me too and said,"oh Jason is going to love this one!"

There are quite a few other moments my sisters and I have had, but we all have basically sworn to never let it leave the family.

I sure do love my family and especially Doug for still loving me after this conversation.

*****Speaking of Clarks, This morning Doug and I had breakfast with Grandpa and Grandma Clark , and Jordan. They were driving through Provo on their way back down to Vegas, so they decided to visit their favorite grandchildren in Provo. I love my grandparents so much and I love spending time with them. =)

Best part of the night= End of movie Doug leans over to me and says with a few tears in his eyes," you didn't tell me this was a cancer movie." I love how sensitive my sweet husband is. I love that we can both tear up in a good chick flick! I love you honey!
